To celebrate the launch of our Mother’s Day campaign, mother.nurture, we spoke to Holly Holmes, the face of our campaign. We were lucky enough to shoot Holly pregnant for our recent brand campaign, and then once again after she delivered her baby.
In our candid chat, she shared her journey of motherhood and what it means to her.
what does it mean to you to be featuring in endota's mother's day campaign alongside your daughter?
It’s a huge pinch-me moment to be featured in endota’s Mother’s Day Campaign with my baby. It has captured our mother-daughter bond in the most raw and organic way possible; I feel fortunate to have worked with such a phenomenal company and been captured in many forms of my journey from pregnancy to now having my baby.
you have just given birth to your gorgeous daughter goldie, congratulations! tell us how your perspective on life has changed since becoming her mum.
The moment you discover you’re becoming a mother, your perspective on life naturally shifts. Having planned and hoped for this pregnancy, it was the most beautiful shift as I was ready. It’s definitely encouraged me to slow down, bask in all the moments and be the best version of myself – after all, as a mother, I am her teacher.
we had the endota shoot planned for while you were pregnant, but goldie had other plans! can you talk us through this?
We sure did! Everything was locked in to be shot first thing on a Tuesday morning. At this stage, I was 38+3 weeks pregnant; however, Monday morning came around, and as I made my morning coffee, Goldie decided that she would begin the journey of her entrance to the world. And that’s the moment my waters broke. Although in saying that, she didn’t arrive earthside until Thursday morning, so it was quite the journey.

what's something goldie has taught you, and how has she taught you this?
Goldie has taught me more than I could have imagined in so many areas of life and so much about myself. She’s taught me the true meaning of unconditional love. She’s given me the ability to see the world through fresh eyes and soak in the simple yet memorable moments that, before having her, would have passed me by. She reminds me that the best things in life are often free.

motherhood is full of trials and tribulations. can you talk us through your most challenging and rewarding moments?
The biggest challenge so far was physical, namely my birth experience and recovery which were whirlwinds from start to finish.
The most difficult thing for me now is how fast time passes – one minute you’re holding your tiny newborn and the next they’re months old. You can catch up on sleep, but you can’t go back in time.
The most rewarding part is the realisation that no one will ever gaze into your eyes and admire you like your baby. I find magic in the midnight breastfeeds when it’s quiet, when the world is asleep and it’s just you and your baby connected in that moment. Nothing compares.
what does the term' mother.nurture' from endota's mother's day campaign mean to you?
When I think of the word ‘mother’ – I see deep love, sacrifice, strength and compassion, plus nurturing and raising a child with care.
When I think of the word ‘nurture’ – I see qualities of being present, nourishing, protecting and being affectionate, which are all qualities most mothers aspire to have or are inspired by.
The phrase ‘mother.nurture’ means all of the above but it also means to me that mothers need to be nurtured too. So show your mummas some love and gratitude – they are extraordinary!

as a pilates teacher, how has pilates benefited your body and wellbeing throughout your pregnancy journey and beyond into motherhood?
Pilates is more than just movement for me; it’s mental and physical strength, motivation, and community. It was a safe space for me to explore movement throughout my pregnancy and a drive to show up for my mind and body continuously.
It has also continuously encouraged healthy lifestyle choices and connected me with magical people. It was the most fitting exercise while pregnant and now also postpartum, as I can tailor and modify everything to suit my needs. It has been particularly beneficial in my postpartum recovery and such a great mental break when I have a spare moment, whether I feel like a sweaty workout or a good stretch and meditation.
what self-care activities would you suggest for new mums or mums-to-be to do to continue nurturing themselves?
Self-care is absolutely essential, and I have always prioritised and continue to do so (even if spare time is minimal). It is important to set daily and weekly/monthly non-negotiables, whether as simple as a cleansed face and a minimal skincare routine in the morning or a short meditation and a coffee. It truly makes a world of difference. Feeling good is SO empowering!
And for new mums, create easy self-care habits and stick to them. Start the day with brushed teeth, a fresh face, your favourite products and brushed hair. Tasks like housework will still be there when you’re finished. Plan in advance, organise with family or babysitters and have self-care appointments booked to look forward to. Lock them into your calendar so they happen. Finally, get your hands on some endota Mother & Baby products – they are amazing!
how will you be spending your first mother's day?
My first Mother’s Day will most definitely be spent with my daughter Goldie and partner, Keiran. On Sundays, we generally keep it relaxed and simple – a walk to the beach and coffee, then a catch-up with family or friends at home or by the sea.
