{"id":31499,"date":"2022-02-05T21:26:03","date_gmt":"2022-02-05T21:26:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/endota.com\/nz\/?p=31499"},"modified":"2022-02-05T21:29:57","modified_gmt":"2022-02-05T21:29:57","slug":"spf-myths-facts-revealed","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/endota.com\/nz\/spf-myths-facts-revealed\/","title":{"rendered":"SPF Myths &#038; Facts Revealed"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div id=\"\" class=\"section tertiary-grey-bg padding-top-one-n-half padding-bottom-half \">\n<div class=\"row blog-row\">\n<div class=\"col-md-8 col-sm-8 col-12 col \">\n<div class=\"col-inner \">\n<div class=\"single-post-div\">\n<div class=\"post-content\">\n<p>Up to 90% of aging in the skin is caused by the sun.\u00a0 UVB rays cause sunburn in the upper layers of the skin while.\u00a0 Even though you can\u2019t feel UVA rays they are the most dangerous kind.\u00a0 \u00a0They cause \u00a0unseen immediate damage to the collagen and elastin and loss of Vit A leading to pigmentation, lines and wrinkles. \u00a0Both UVB &amp; UVA can lead to skin cancer disorders.\u00a0 UVB rays cannot pass through glass but up to 75% of UVA can!\u00a0 This is why it is important to wear a broad spectrum sunscreen every day.<\/p>\n<p>Zinc oxide is the only ingredient that single handedly protects against both UVB and UVA.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Myth:\u00a0\u00a0 There is no such thing as Spf layering!!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>For example.\u00a0 A moisturizer containing Spf 10 plus foundation with Spf 15 does not add up to Spf 25!! You are only protected by the highest level of Spf in the\u00a0<u>individual product<\/u>!<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Mineral sunscreens are usually better for the environment and for your skin so look for mineral\/physical sunscreens containing zinc and titanium dioxide. \u00a0Also, they are less likely to cause irritation in sensitive skins. \u00a0They deflect the suns rays and do not absorb into the blood stream.\u00a0 Some ingredients In Chemical Spfs have been found present in breast milk.\u00a0 \u00a0Look for sunscreens that contain antioxidants as they help to neutralize free radical damage.\u00a0 Our\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/endota.com\/nz\/product-category\/all-products\/?filter=140\">Coola Sun<\/a>\u00a0care range and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/endota.com\/nz\/shop\/clean-https:\/\/endota.com\/nz\/product\/all-products\/brands\/synergie\/synergie-uberzinc-sun-protection\/beauty-product-brands\/synergie\/synergie-uberzinc\/\">Synergie Uberzinc<\/a>\u00a0are a good example of this as they contain lycopene (from tomatoes) and green tea respectively.\u00a0\u00a0 These antioxidants also help protect not only from the damaging HEV Visible sun rays, but similar HEV blue light rays from TV\u2019s, computer screens and phones.\u00a0 Therefore, these antioxidants may your skin indoors also!<\/p>\n<p>Good quality sunscreens also sometimes show a UVA PA+ rating.\u00a0 Protection against UVA sun rays.\u00a0 They can rate from some protection: PA+ &#8211; PA++++ extremely high protection.\u00a0 Uberzinc has a rating of PA+++.<\/p>\n<p>If your skin can burn without sunscreen in 10 minutes an Spf 15 will protect you for 150 minutes, as a general rule.\u00a0 Spf 30 \u2013 5hrs approx., and Spf 50 8 hrs approx. \u2013 provided it is reapplied after swimming or perspiration.\u00a0\u00a0 Note:\u00a0 You only receive 3% more UVB protection from Spf30 (97%) than from Spf 15 (93%) and 2% more from Spf50 (99%) than Spf 30.\u00a0 The numbers relate to how long you can remain in the sun with wearing Spf.\u00a0 Obviously between 11.00 \u2013 3pm is when the rays are at their most damaging.<\/p>\n<p>And of course you can replace some valuable lost Vit A on the face by applying your\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/endota.com\/nz\/product\/all-products\/brands\/synergie\/synergie-ultimate-a-serum\/\">Vit A serums<\/a>\u00a0at night.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"col-md-4 col-sm-4 col \">\n<div class=\"col-inner \">\n<div class=\"sidebar-container\">\n<div
